    The Minnesota Fire Service was on display at the Minnesota Capitol in Saint Paul last Wednesday for Fire Service Day at the Capitol. 116 Firefighter/lobbyists (including 50 MPFF members) attended individual meetings with 115 legislators to push for issues important to the fire service. 60% of the legislature had meetings with firefighters on Fire Service Day.

    One of the fun parts of the ball is the silent auction.  This year we are able to let members preview items and also bid online without being at the ball.  All proceeds from the auction go directly to the Denver Firefighters Charitable Foundation.  If you click HERE  you can see the items, the auction will be open tomorrow 2/22 from 4:30-10:30pm.

    Dry Creek Ct. Vehicle into Building

    At 9:10 on Monday February 17th, Local members responded to a call for a car into a building on W. Dry Creek Ct. in Littleton. When members arrived on scene, they found a car had crashed through the front doors of The Boardroom Sports Bar and Steakhouse. The car was still running inside the business, but the driver was nowhere to be found. Littleton Police also arrived on scene to investigate.

    FAST Response to Montville

    On Saturday, February 15, 2020, at around 12:08 P.M. Montville, Mohegan, Oakdale, and Quaker Hill Fire Departments along with Mohegan Tribal FAST were dispatched to #491 Norwich New London Turnpike for a possible bedroom fire.  Upon arrival on scene Montville Ladder 15 found fire showing from the A/D corner of the structure.  A working fire was transmitted.

Sullivan Public Safety Complex to swear in five new recruits and promote 11 other officers. Calvi swore in Samuel Hudak, William Torres Jr., Daniel Allard and Matthew McElhiney as lieutenants.lio Rivera.

Lynn Firefighters Day was adopted by the Lynn City Council following a tragic fire where four Lynn Firefighters died in the line of duty on February 13, 1895 at City Box 41, 53-55 Munroe Street, Hutchinson Hardware.     After 21 years of dedicated service to the City of Norwich, Captain Scott Suplita worked his last shift Wednesday, February 12, 2020.  Captain Suplita was not only a leader on the fireground but a strong advocate for the members of Local 892 as well.

    Last week, Councilor Kevin Booker visited the NLFD and geared up for some drills alongside Group 2. Councilor Booker went through a hose stretch and fire attack evolution, ladder placement and an EMS demonstration. Councilor Reona Dyess was also on hand.     On February 9, join Local 2180 members, friends and family to turn out and support Firefighter John Preston on the last mile of his hike from Northern California to the USS Midway bringing support and awareness to suicide prevention. John, a Palo Alto firefighter and United States Maring Corp Veteran, tragically lost his brother to suicide who was a police officer and Marine Veteran.
